Raising Sand

Robert Plant and Alison Kraus have an album together. An unusual combination of talents but I like what I've heard so far!

I have always loved the clarity of Alisons voice. My fav is "let your Loss be your Lesson" a stange lyric choice but it works well.I wish the album had a little more of an upbeat feel but a good sound.

My favourites are 'Rich Woman' and 'Fortune Teller" and 'Your Long Journey' is a nice song to play when somebody dies. I like Alison's voice, I had never listened to her before not ever having b een into country music

I bet there are a lot of country musicians you'd like Jill. A lot of them are crossover artists. The modern country definitely crosses genre boundries..

That's the same thing I'd say about The Dixie Chicks... More like contemporary pop, with a country flavor. This is a good thing. We catagorize music by genre here on the net just to help guide people to what they prefer, but some of these could definitely be placed into either/or several catagories. I really like her voice too, and she always has great harmonies in her music. With Union Station, or Vince Gill, or anyone she performs with there is always great harmony.

I like many different genres, and I'm selective song by song. It's looking like you would be too. You are probably a selective country fan, just like I am. I'm selective about any genre. I like rock, but not all rock, etc...
