IE and cookies

I've had problems with Microsoft IE browser not working properly with cookies... So I went and downloaded OPERA browser http://www.firefox.com, and I've been using it. What a breath of fresh air this is over using IE. I've not had a single problem. Opera seems to be more secure too from what I've been reading. I've been reading the IE is not really that secure. How did these people (MS) get to be so big?

Google, and it's related services (googlegroup, orkut, blogger), has become a breeze to use now that I've changed browsers. If you are having problems with always having to login to use google services and you are using IE, that is probably your problem.

dbPowerAmp (mp3 convertor)

This is a free windows program that converts mp3 to wav (and many other formats if you get the codecs for them from the codec page). It's a very handy setup, and integrates itself into windows, so that you can convert an mp3 just by right clicking on it. If you don't have a good mp3 convertor this one is highly recommended!

MULAB multi-track software

I've downloaded this free software to check it out. It seems quite extensive for FREE SOFTWARE. I mean it's not going to beat out SONAR, or CUBASE, but it's not too shabby. The free version is limited to 8 tracks, but you can do a lot with 8 tracks. I have been considering creating some video tutorials to put up for this, to help get beginners going. There is something to be said for having a common software too. I don't intend to stop using sonar, but I could see using this as a secondary software that we all have in common. One cool thing about it is that it has a Mac version. So we'd be directly interfaced with Mac people? I mean for free you can't really go wrong. Since I've downloaded it, and poked around with the docs, I've figured out how to do pretty much everything we'd need it for here. Any thoughts?

Batch REX to WAV convertor?

Does anyone know of a proram that will convert multiple files from REX to WAV format? I know I can export in Reason and can use the REX files in Reason, but I'd like to be able to work in wav format. Anyone know of such an animal? Thanks in advance...

Acid Express (PC utiitiy)

The lite FREE version of Acid Pro. This is one of the best editing utilities that can be had for audio, and the editing thereof. I use Acid Pro everyday, and this is a lite version of it... A must have!

WinBPM (PC utility)

A pretty cool little utilitiy for finding the tempo (BPM) of any given audio. You open your audio in your player, and open this winBPM too, then you start the track playing. You click over into winbpm while it's playing, and then hit your spacebar in time with the track. When you let off and stop hitting the spacebar, it gives you a readout of the BPM of the track (roughly). You repeat this twice to make sure, and viola! you have the tempo of the track. Mind you it's not going to be exact, because humans are not perfect time keepers, but it'll be darned close. Most people round off their tempos to whole numbers, so once you know what the rough tempo is you' can probably round it up or down and be exact. That's been my experience, and this has been an extremely useful tool!
