I've downloaded this free software to check it out. It seems quite extensive for FREE SOFTWARE. I mean it's not going to beat out SONAR, or CUBASE, but it's not too shabby. The free version is limited to 8 tracks, but you can do a lot with 8 tracks. I have been considering creating some video tutorials to put up for this, to help get beginners going. There is something to be said for having a common software too. I don't intend to stop using sonar, but I could see using this as a secondary software that we all have in common. One cool thing about it is that it has a Mac version. So we'd be directly interfaced with Mac people? I mean for free you can't really go wrong. Since I've downloaded it, and poked around with the docs, I've figured out how to do pretty much everything we'd need it for here. Any thoughts?

It's actually pretty small..
I've begun creating flash tutorials for those of you who need it for using MULAB. This particulat tutorial shows you how to import a wav file, and cut dead air off of it. It also shows you how to asign the audio to a different slider, and meter. Have your sound turned low when you open this.

Wonder if these tutorials are helping Jill? She can use MULAB on a Mac. It's a cool idea that the different platforms have the same software... So does it work like I said it should Jill?

Keeper Im up to par with the tutorials, but I am still having an issue with audio. When I push play I cannot hear the music through MULAB. The settings are where you showed me to put them. Any other ides?

See if you have sound on your Line 6 interface. Does it have a headphone jack on it? Try plugging your headphones into the Line 6 and see if you hear anything. The Line 6 probably has a headphone volume knob on it. Make sure that is turned u.
On MULAB look under the "Edit" menu on the upper left. Under Edit, find Audio setup, and make sure the audio output is set right. if you are not sure which to use, trial and error could do it. There are probably only a few choices, so when you have the right one, it'll play.

I know how much you are guarded about the files that Nic left you. This program doesn't take up much room itself Jill, but it works in wav format, which is going to require a good amount of hard drive space. A systematic backup onto DVD is probably a good idea...
Maybe once you have installed it and see it operate it'll be incentive to do that.
Using MULAB to sync with a track that was played to a metronome. Also creating and saving a session inside a project folder:

Tutorial about auditioning, and then once the audition is accepted, to render a separate track of your part with a click on the front of it to use for syncing and mixing.
