Dweezil Zappa has been touring, playing his father's music. Check out Terry Bozzio drumming on some Zappa.

Slade- How Does it Feel
A Brilliant track from a Fantastic band....I managed to see the at Nottingham Uni. It was a Christmas gig in 1984 ...I think......always damn good
Lamb
There was some discussion about the wonderful Portishead earlier and I thought I would share my love of this band "Lamb" a similar background.....just love that voice

Hi All
This low budget video set in a pub just caught my attention and shows that interesting songs and vids can come from strange places.
The song lyrics are based on terms from UK shipping forcasts LOL a lot of fun
Cheers Ian
Renee Olstead (Jazz vocalist extraordinare)
You might recognize this girl from the TV show called "Still Standing". What a dazzling voice she has! She does all jazz standards and does them well I might add!
New Orleans Social Club on Austin City Limits
I really like John Boutte's voice, and really enjoy this band, featuring some of the Neville greats from New Orleans. The sound is a little choppy on this, but still shows the performance.
And here's another clip from the same show with much better sound and picture.

Love the funky blues...
RAMMSTEIN
Here is a strange one for you. I went to see Rammstein in Nottingham two years ago and was blown away with their blend of German industrial rock.Fantastic guitar riffs that drag you in kicking screaming and laughing all the way.I dont speak any German at all and after reading a few translations it probably for the best...... but I still enjoy this band..... Oh I want to be a little miner LOL..... Twisted? Me? No!
Last Chance Texaco
Hey All
I have always loved this song by Ricki Lee Jones and I just found this vid on you tube.
It's a bit grainy but it's fantastic how RLJ and the band really make you feel as though you are looking out on a rain soaked highway late at night listening to the traffic pass.A wonderful use of sound.
The album version is better but this is a classic.
Hurricane Room
William Topley has long been one of my favorites. He has a very unique voice and his writing, and music paints pictures as you listen. Enjoy!
Silent House (Dixie Chicks)
I watched Crowded House on Austin City Limits, and they covered this Dixie Chicks song. They did ok, but I heard the Dixie Chicks do this first and I was struck by this song as an exceptional piece of songwriting, on several fronts. First is the lyrics. It's an extremely poiniant piece of writing about how the writer felt about her grandmother doing battle with Alzheimers Disease. It brought a tear to my eye having wittness the same thing with my wife's mother. She lived with us in her final time, so Sherry could take care of her while she battled the same disease. This writer has captured their pain exquisitly. Evokes emotion bigtime. And then the mood of the music is superb to this setting. Sets up a very sad framework. It's kinda hard to listen to because it goes right to your heart, but sadness is part of life, and we are better of if we don't try to avoid it, and just work through it. Ok so we have song and lyric right on the money, then there is their harmonies which I absolutely love... It's one of the things that drew me to The Dixie Chicks music. In my opinion that band name is far too trashy to suit the class of musicianship, and writing I've seen from them. And lastly they've integrated these unconventional instruments into it, mainly banjo. It works well IMHO. You'd never think banjo would work so well on such a sad song, but it does. When I saw them do this on VH1 Storytellers, I was captivated by the performance. Not sure when she wrote this or even when they performed it (I'll have to look), but I saw it in 2007, so this post goes to what Ian has setup. She told what the song is about, on the show, so that's why I know this. I am not sure who made this video but it puts the lyrics on the screen for you as you listen. They have a top notch band backing them up too. Another added bonus there. If you've never seen, or heard this band, and all you know is their kinda cliche band name I have to recommend them. They do country, but they are a crossover band and they rock it up and a lot is on the popish side too. Absolutely flawless singers.... I'm big on vocal harmonies and I'd give them an A in that area. The audio for this video is lower res, but still great. By all means check them out! They are much classier than this band name implies....
One that stuck with me
I guess she did this one in 2005? But I didn't see/hear it until earlier this year.
Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek".
Best Track of 2007
It occured to me that it would be interesting to find out what kind of music we were all listening to last year, but to make things simple and to avoid long lists as I expect we have been listening to loads of tracks I am asking this:-
Mine has to be........ Terra Naomi - Not Sorry
This is a fabulous song and Terra has a very strong and flexible voice. The chorus got itself well embeded in my brain and just wouldn't let go. The whole album is great and well worth getting hold of.
Sweet Celine
This man has an excellent sound, on the vocal front, instrument, and writing! I'm a fan!
